Project overview

The AVATAR project focuses on the anonymization of personal health data for usage in scientific research by creating digital avatars from a decentralized data pool. These avatars, based on human data that cannot be traced back to individuals, enable data protection-compliant research and innovation in the healthcare sector. The aim is to harness the previously inaccessible potential of digitalization through new anonymization approaches and event-related data donation consents.

Avatars as drivers of innovation in medicine & health

Health data is needed to develop new medical solutions, healing methods and innovative healthcare products. This includes, for example, disease patterns, medical histories and fitness data. A lot of existing health data is personal and cannot be used due to data protection regulations. In order to use this data for research nevertheless, it is to be anonymized and transferred to digital avatars.

rooom AG is contributing its specialized knowledge and technologies in the areas of metaverse and 3D visualization to the AVATAR project. With advanced digital platforms, rooom shows how health data can be presented and used in a visually appealing way in a virtual 3D world. We explore innovative uses for this data that both support research and provide patients with deeper insights into their health information. Particularly important is the inclusion of game-like elements and incentive systems in the metaverse to encourage people to provide their health data. Great importance is attached to data security and compliance with data protection regulations. By combining technical expertise and creative approaches, rooom can make a significant contribution to making the metaverse more useful and informative for health research and patient education. It serves as a bridge between the digital and real world in a way that is both fascinating and practically valuable.
